"When you are, when you don't know when you are
is one of the most precious spots offered by improvisation.
It is a place from which more directions
    are possible than anywhere else.

I call this place the Gap"

Drosha of Head2Toe crew NL (Organiser of 3 for King vs Breakjunkies) Popper, Houser and Bboy will be coming to London and is willing to conduct a 2 hour workshop with an emphasis on originality and improvisation. Although this would be a bboy workshop, I would recommend it to dancers of any style especially those who have an interest in dynamic and continuous flow and abstract movement.

This post is to gauge interest, and so if your interested please give me some feedback and we'll make this happen!

  4. Call out to all crews

    25 July 2011 - 12:50 PM

    Hi Guys,

I've only travelled a little but it hasn't taken much to see that we are one of the few countries that lack serious hunger. Don't get me wrong there are some hungry bboys in the UK but unfortunately it's few and far between.

B-boys train in various spots with no communication, they drill moves and never exchange or battle each other and then enter competitions unable to deal with the pressure, respond to their opponent's moves, or even catch a beat.

As soon as you leave the UK, you see bboys defending their neighbourhoods, challenging each other to test their skill and artform all the time. Its confrontational but it's the highest respect you can show to another bboy. This isn't news to you guys so i'll get to the point.

This is a open invitation to any crews who would like to battle Rain. No judges, in private or with a crowd we don't care this is about us as scene, we can train together and chill together after, or it could be just a battle if you hate us, we don't mind. We fully intend to battle every single one of you guys but this is to call out whoever wants to smoke us first.

I know lots of people might not like this, but i think as a crew Rain has to do this for ourselves and the scene.

please share this and feel free to dicuss or just cuss.

We're doing it anyways and if we don't see you at your spot or ours, i'm sure we'll eventually meet in the cypher.

    Peace

    Clint

  5. Suggestion before flying to Jams and Competitions

    18 June 2011 - 03:53 PM

I was recently told by a travel agent that the more you check prices for flights, the more demand is registered for that trip around those days and that the price will quickly go up based on this increased demand.

This might start to sound consistent with what you've been experiencing, especially where you've booked an ever increasing Ryanair or Easyjet flight only to find your the only one on the plane.

As an example of this, I'll be attending b-boy classics in Rotterdam on the 17th July. I'll be flying from London Stansted to Eindhoven airport (Amsterdam is a much closer airport if your going but i'll be staying longer to train). I checked flights for the 15th to the 20th (the cheapest days)and on each occassion the price increased (and i can't imagine that anyone else would be stupid enough to fly to Einhoven for a Jam in Rotterdam). When i eventually bought my flight it was approx £75 (not bad?) another friend let the ticket cool off for a week or two and bought his flight for £40... ... }:-| ... This probably explains why i've known guys who've flown to IBE from stansted for £6 and yet now the price has been listed around the £80 mark. Circle Kingz should be cheaper but i imagine this will also be the case for there depending on how popular the new infinity battle is.

I don't know how true this is or if it also applies to anything else so if you know anything more or have a better explanation please give us a clue otherwise I'll go ahead and suggest two solutions / experiment.

    1. Check the price for you flight as infrequently as possible and try to book on first viewing - cheaper for everybody
    2. Before Checking your the airlines, check UKBboy to see if anyone has a sticky or post with a price for the flight to the particular bboy jam / competition you wish to attend and the approximate dates for those flights. If you don't find the info here, THEN check the airline companies for their prices and dates for that particular location and post up a thread yourself with the date you did the check to save the next person the cost and time - Cheaper for everyone and potentially makes you very popular.

We'll see if we notice a drop in the price of flights to these events again in which case, the system works... maybe..

    what do you think?
