For those that don't know me: I'm ChazB, and I rep the Flyin' Jalapenos Crew (Glasgow, Scotland) and Strife.tv (UK/Worldwide).

This is something that has been happening for a while now, and finally I'm going to be speaking up about it. If you disagree then that is your opinion and I shall respect that

Aight so here's wassup. When people organise a jam/event/competition/call it whatever u want most people get their friends who own an amateur production company/filming organisation to cover their event; whether that's to save money or something I have no clue. But this is where I get mad:

Once they release the footage, most of it looks like shit! No joke. They either butcher the sound or they can't come up with the dope edit or angle that people need to see. Instead they tamper with the footage and everything just looks wack. WHY ARE WE USING THESE PEOPLE?! Instead of looking outside the culture for those that will film your event for less money/whatever fucking reason, why not look inside the UK scene and scout those that are constantly filming events?? Three people that first come to my head: Doy, Marko, Coyle. Why aren't we supporting the videographers in our scene, and going for others that have no clue how to film a breakin' event?!

Don't get me wrong, you can get some people outside of the scene that have dope equipment that can work their way around filming a breakin' event or a breakin' related video (if they have experience in directing and have a clue about what they want the video to look like), and you do get event promoters like BTC who know how to choose a good videographer, so this isn't directed towards them. But seriously? People are starting their own clothing range (e.g BeatChameleon or D.E.A.D clothing, ATD x StrikeCover, Soulpowered x Hantu Collective) and we are asked to support them...this should apply to the videographers too!!
