In Topic: Workshop documentation...

Yo!
If you're going to make another highlight video...add the highlights of the workshop in the video. Cause if u add in everything that went on (so to speak) no one would go to it cause of your video, whereas if you only add some parts the rest will be left to us to go to the workshop. You can dress it up and make it all fancy if u want but don't put in all the critical parts of the workshop lol.

Look, bro! This isn't a means to promote yourself, this thread was in actual fact to say something AGAINST production companies that can't film for shit. I personally don't know you, maybe others here do, but I don't appreciate your post. And bro, no one is talking about that "iPhone amateur shit" here. -

Dhalsim, your support is much appreciated! I don't believe it's just about understanding the scene (even though it is very important for rep etc), but I also believe that those that are good at filming bboys are bboys themselves; they can understand angles that match the dynamics of the moves put in front of them. When I was filming with Ray (Team Shmetta) last weekend I learned even more about it. -

M-Phatic F10, on 25 January 2012 - 09:33 AM, said:hehe, yeah I think videographers come way down on the list of priorities when organising a comp/jam, when they should be on the same list as DJ's, Judges, and invites if you wanna be serious about your event or want to see the fruits of your labour in putting that event on, rather than some shitty mobile phone footage with sound distortion and shaky hands. I'm not gonna hold a grudge about it. To be honest, my job comes first these days. When I'm in the clip zone I'm working 16 hour days and there's only so many times I can do that each year!!
I think the count is around 60 event highlight clips since I started filming, 90% of which have been in the UK. I've only been invited specifically to film from 3 people in 8 years of filming - Cyanide, Dhalsim and BTC.
One of my long term objectives when I started filming was to get to a level where I would be asked to film a b-boy event abroad and not pay for it. Dont get me wrong, I do it to give back to the scene but you've got to have ambition or objectives in life to feel like you've achieved something. I havent been to a jam in Europe since 2006!! I've been learning filming through travelling around the UK scene, and I love capturing it! And in that time, a few classics have come out, mainly from Scotland.
I hooked up with Strife as we were doing similar things, knew the exposure to the UK scene would massively increase and think the familiarity of my work had breeded complacency in the UK, so I dont do as many clips these days. I captured the uk scene relentlessly for a good 5 years and rinsed it. It needs new blood like yourself Chaz.
Anyway, collaborating with Strife was definitely a good move for us and for myself! I'm off to Barcelona in April to film for them, and I'm not paying for it. Feels weird.
Too right bro! You've been one of the only ones to consistently provide great footage of events, plus with your job too that needs recognition.
With regards to Strife, I couldn't be happier. Daniel (especially) has helped me a lot and given me good advice - can't thank him enough for that. Sorry I can't be in Barcelona with you guys, have fun and rep!

cheers to chaz for posting 97% of just jam this year, massive thanks to DOY for you know what and other stuff, and be on the look out for a new video project with us and just jam this year.
ps: have a great time in spain with daniel, doy, he was telling me. sounds dope
Thanks for the love P, was an honour to film Just Jam!

This is what we need more of, support! BTC, Dhalsim and others give their support but more people need to be aware of what we are all doing and therefore bring growth to the UK Scene's videographers...and photographers!
