Notes about Dirty 30s

The Dirty 30s was set up by old skool Uk bboy 10 Tonn alongside DJ TBreaks as a spin off from Fresh Jive. The idea being that over 30s B-boys compete. A positive message to the youth that B-boying is not a short term pastime while giving the older dancers something to train for.

But there is something very special about the current dirty 30s! Especially those in their late 30s – they are historical figures in the world of hiphop – they are the pioneers of hiphop culture.

“In the Uk in the 80s – when hiphop reached Uk shores – there was no internet - all we had were videos – it was watching breaking that got us into the music – therefore the first dancers in the Uk were actually the first real hiphop heads who brought the music alive”

Fresh Jive threw the first Dirty 30s jam in 2008 that brought all the old heads out the woodwork from across the country including 2nd To None – the original world champions + Sammy the One, Little Tim, Supa J and so many more came to battle – ironically 10 Tonn won it – independently judged of course!
