Word!
I do support when I can, the edit on my last video was done by myself and by orzelos and i enjoyed doing it, even still i know the value of good videographers and photographers, Moole is sick with his camera too.
Over the years i have been fortunate enough to have been covered by marko and doy who have always done an amazing job and have done me a great service and been a huge favour, sometimes ive been able to sort of something for them other times not. Now i know that i need to take care of this in a better way, the value it can add is unreal.
historically this has been gotten really wrong like uk bboy champs official videos in the early days with dubbed music and wack loops then footage cutting the action up like a butcher, however over time even that has got much better and is now a really good dvd to watch. Marko has produced many tear it up dvds which he sells if anyone wants one, there a clause that if you buy it you're allowed to copy and pass it on to as many people as you like.
anyway getting back on topic, our videogrpahers and photographers provide an amazing asset as they create the content we can use to promote forthcoming jams and also with enough views, likes and shares through social media this instantly becomes hugely desirable by sponsors too.
I think its a small cost to pay for strife or whoever to come and film a bboy jam/comp or clip as it should be filmed given the knowledge they have and how that translates onto photos or film, especially if that footage nails you a good cash sponsor.
welsh champs has the most pimped out camera set up with rail tracks haha.
support the documentarians of the scene as much as they support you. -
